WEEK 1: THE BODY SCAN PRACTICE

The purpose of this practice is to fall awake to the bodying its sensations in the present moment.

This practice may be done in any position but it is helpful to have the body supported by either lying on a mat or a bed or alternatively to be seated in a supportive chair.

Awareness of Breathing (20-min) – The practice begins in a lying down posture and then shifts to a seated posture.
